Baptismal Ministry
Bereavement Assistant
In the event of a death in the church family, this ministry helps meet the needs of the grieving family by providing a meal following a funeral service. Team members call on the church members to provide different vegetables, salads and desserts to accompany meat and bread provided by the church. The team is responsible for having the meal ready in the Student Worship Center and to provide the cleanup after. For more information contact Debbie Sorensen at
Children’s Ministry
Choir
Sing in the Sunday morning choir. Rehearsal is Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm in the choir room. (The choir is off the month of July) No audition required. The Worship Choir sings during the morning services as well as seasonal events such as the Oakwood Christmas Celebration. Contact Daniel Jennings for more information at
Coffee
One of the most important jobs on Sunday morning. Be a part of the team that prepares coffee for our worshiping congregation. For more information please contact Della Stevens
Hearts of Caring Ministry
The Hearts of Caring Ministry ministers in senior care facilities. We engage the seniors to show the love of Jesus, by loving and honoring the residents, with intentional interaction through various activities. We help them find commonality with each other, to promote socialization and combat loneliness. For more information on this ministry please contact Sharon Holman at
High School Ministry
Hospitality Ministry
Greet, welcome, and provide requested information and direction to guests and people of Oakwood prior to each service. Serve at whatever Sunday you would like for 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the service begins. For more information contact Della Stevens
Kids Club
Partner with New Braunfels Christian Ministries to multiply possibilities in the lives of local elementary students by listening to kids read, serving food, or helping with homework. For more information visit nbcm.org

MARK 9 - Special Needs
Children of all ages with special needs are invited to attend Bible Study. A buddy will accompany each child to their regular class or to our special needs room, depending on his/her needs. Prayer Ministry
The Intercessory Prayer Ministry provides one of our most vital support ministries and is staffed by volunteer Prayer Warriors. Our members commit to one hour each week to pray for the needs of others using the prayer room or online system. Prayer grams are sent to those who request a note. Preschool Ministry
We dedicate ourselves to leading children to look toward Jesus and His teachings. Opportunities to serve are: Sunday AM & PM Bible Study Teacher or Assistant, Sunday AM Information Counter Worker, Monday BLEND (Women’s Ministry) Worker, Wednesday PM Bible Study Teacher or Assistant, Parents Night Out, Heart of Hope. Sewing Ministry
Oakwood Sewing Ministry comes together every Tuesday night from 5:30-7:30pm. We meet in room 104 of the Adult Education Building. Our ministry is to make baby quilts for Options for Life and we also make Prayer Quilts to provide to those with long term illnesses. Oakwood has only one opportunity to make a good impression for our first time guests. The usher ministry is a vital link in establishing a great first impression. The primary responsibility is to make the worship experience enjoyable for our guests. Pass out worship guides with a smile and a handshake and help collect the morning offering.
