Survivors of Suicide Loss

Tuesday, 6:00pm - 8:00pm | 2154 Loop 337 New Braunfels TX 78130

The group will be a safe place to share your grief journey and pain in the loss of your loved one due to suicide. We will build a community with those left behind after a suicide loss that share this common bond of loss trusting that God’s Word is sovereign in teaching us how to heal with His love.

This group is sponsored by the Oakwood Counseling Center with Eva Lott, Director, and was born out of a need from others who walked this journey in the GriefShare program that is sponsored by the OCC. Terry and Mary Dean Richards prayerfully considered sharing their testimony and leading this group to build a community specific to loss by suicide.

Here you will find compassionate, caring people who will travel alongside you on this journey. They have walked this journey ahead of you and will be there to guide and support those attending with a book study, “Melissa: A Father’s Lessons from a Daughter’s Suicide” by Frank Page.

Culture Shock: A Biblical Response to Todays Most Divisive Issues (Men's Class)

Thursday, 6:00am - 7:00am | 2154 Loop 337 New Braunfels TX 78130

by Chip Ingram. Where do you stand on issues like: Truth, Sex, Homosexuality, Abortion, the Environment, and the Church and Politics? More importantly, what does God say? If there ever was a time for Christians to understand and communicate God’s truth about controversial and polarizing issues, it is now. More than ever before, believers must develop convictions based on research, reason, and biblical truth. But it doesn’t stop there. It’s equally important that you’re able (and willing) to communicate these convictions with a love and respect that reflects God’s own heart. This series will help you learn how to respond with love, even in the face of controversy. In the process, you’ll discover the power of bringing light – not heat – to the core issues at the heart of society today.

Facilitator: Pastor Steve Peace. Length: 8 weeks. Cost: $15 per person. Start Date: Thursday morning 3/23/17 @ 6:00 a.m. to 5/11/17.

Location: Adult Education Bldg. Room 104.
